In June 2018, Davison & McCarthy, P.C. welcomed back attorney Daniel K. McCarthy. Mr. McCarthy has practiced law in the Lehigh Valley for over 40 years and has assisted corporations, developers, municipalities, entrepreneurs and other individuals with their complex legal matters. His practice concentrates in real estate law, municipal law, land use and zoning, estate planning and administration, business collections, and commercial litigation. He is a past member of the Lehigh County Board of Commissioners, serving from 2002-2014.
He was Director of Administration for Lehigh County from 2014-2016. His professional experience also includes having served as City Solicitor and Assistant City Solicitor to the City of Allentown, Solicitor to the South Whitehall Township Authority, Northampton County Assistant Public Defender, Special Counsel to the Allentown Fire Civil Service Commission and the Allentown Police Civil Service Commission. Mr. McCarthy was the first Solicitor to the Allentown Parking Authority and a Past President of the Bar Association of Lehigh County (2012).
A former member of the Allentown Historical and Architectural Review Board, Mr. McCarthy was chairman of the Allentown Zoning Hearing Board from 2006-2016.
In 2016 he was appointed by Governor Tom Wolf and unanimously confirmed by the Pennsylvania Senate to be a Judge of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas. He presided over cases filed in the civil and family division. His term concluded on January 1, 2018.
